Workplace Violence Prevention Plan for Tech Stop Effective Date 20240701

Introduction[edit]

This workplace violence prevention plan ("Plan") is established to protect employees from workplace violence. The Plan sets forth procedures for preventing, reporting, and responding to workplace violence.

Definitions[edit]

Workplace Violence means any physical assault, including shoving, hitting, kicking, or any other form of corporal punishment; or a threat of physical assault against an employee.

Responsibilities[edit]

Management is responsible for implementing this Plan and ensuring compliance with its provisions. Employees are responsible for reporting workplace violence incidents and for following the procedures outlined in this Plan.

Workplace Violence Prevention Program[edit]

The company will implement the following measures to prevent workplace violence:

  • Worksite Assessments We will conduct periodic inspections to identify and evaluate workplace violence hazards. This will include inspections:
    • When the plan is first set up.
    • Periodically scheduled.
    • After violent incidents.
    • Whenever a new hazard becomes known.
  • Hazard Correction - We will take timely steps to correct any workplace violence hazards identified during inspections.
  • Training - We will provide all employees with training on workplace violence prevention. The training will include:
    • Recognition and reporting of workplace violence
    • De-escalation techniques
    • The company's workplace violence prevention plan

Reporting Workplace Violence[edit]

Employees are encouraged to report all incidents of workplace violence to their supervisor or a member of management immediately. Reports can be made verbally or in writing. The company will ensure that no retaliation will be taken against any employee who reports a workplace violence incident.

Response to Workplace Violence[edit]

The company will have procedures in place to respond to workplace violence incidents. These procedures will include:

  • Securing the Scene - The first priority will be to ensure the safety of all employees. This may involve securing the scene of the incident and calling 911.
  • Investigation - The company will investigate all reported workplace violence incidents.
  • Post-Incident - Support The company will provide support to employees who have been affected by workplace violence, such as counseling or employee assistance programs.

Review of Plan[edit]

This Plan will be reviewed annually and more frequently if there is a workplace violence incident or a change in working conditions that may increase the risk of workplace violence.
